Rome's stunning Vatican Library is an enormous library which is home to literally thousands of codices, manuscripts and extremely historic printed books.

Some of the most interesting books housed in Rome's Vatican Library include actual copies of Virgil's works dating from the 4th and 5th centuries, original love letters written by King Henry VIII to Anne Boleyn, and the Vatican Library also contains a number of poems by Michelangelo, written in his own hand. Rome's Vatican Library contains more than 1.5 million books, which are exhibited in the Sala Sistina.
