Capitoline Hill (Campidoglio) is a major tourist attraction in Rome and one of the main highlights at Capitoline Hill is the Piazza del Campidoglio, which was originally designed by Michelangelo in the mid-16th century. At one stage Rome's Capitoline Hill (Campidoglio) also included a striking bronze statue of Marcus Aurelius.
Three sides of this well-proportioned, imposing square are bordered by the Palazzo dei Senatori and Rome's two museums, the Palazzo dei Conservatori and the Palazzo Nuovo, both of which contain many impressive statues. The Capitoline Hill (Campidoglio) provides magnificent views over Rome's world-famous Forum.
